Today marks a pivotal moment in the advancement of human-robot collaboration with the unveiling of the ARK Switch™ (Autonomous Robot Kill Switch), a groundbreaking standalone safety module designed to empower humans with immediate and decisive control over any autonomous robot or Al-controlled machine.

Developed to ensure human safety and maintain trust in an increasingly automated world, the ARK Switch provides a universal, independent override mechanism that cuts main power in a single, decisive action, regardless of the robot's internal software.

"As autonomous systems become more integrated into our daily lives and industries, ensuring human safety and maintaining public trust are paramount," said Terry Ewert, Founder of Humans Prime PBC, and inventor of the ARK Switch. "The ARK Switch is a direct response to this critical need, offering an unparalleled level of human oversight and a failsafe that operates entirely independently of a robot's complex programming. It's about putting humans firmly in charge, always."

Why the ARK Switch is Essential

The rapid proliferation of autonomous systems across various sectors, from manufacturing and logistics to healthcare and exploration, necessitates robust safety protocols. The ARK Switch addresses several critical needs:

How the ARK Switch Operates

The ARK Switch is designed for intuitive and immediate activation, offering two primary methods for human intervention: Direct Physical Activation via a prominent red button, and Wireless Remote Activation via a fob, wearable, or smartphone app. Crucially, the logic of the ARK Switch operates entirely independently of the robot's internal software. Upon activation, it physically opens the main battery connection, instantly cutting power to the autonomous system.

Restarting the ARK Switch

Restarting an ARK Switch-equipped robot is designed to be a secure, multi-factor human-centric process, preventing unauthorized or accidental reactivation. It requires both biometric verification and a unique service code entered via a linked smartphone application. No remote or software-only command can restart the ARK Switch.
